New creative workshops for 2020

We've closed the door on our last workshop of 2019. But don't worry! We've been working hard behind the scenes to plan our workshops for 2020 and we're still taking workshop bookings, answering your questions and sending out gift vouchers in time for Christmas!

We're excited to be starting 2020 with some brand new workshops for you.

We welcome new tutors to the team including Eugenia Rosa and Lauren Smith.

We also have some advanced courses in sketching, screenprinting and macramé, building on the beginners courses from previous years.

And, for the first time, we have invited an international guest tutor to visit. Polish jewellery artist Anna Mazon will be visiting in September to teach three silver clay workshops.

Your life your way with Eugenia Rosa

Let the January blues begone - join writer, artist and mentor Eugenia Rosa to enjoy an evening of play and mind body connection that will inspire a re-imaging of your vision for 2020.








The Artist's Way Women's Circle with Eugenia Rosa


Start the New Year with time, space and wonder to journey with your inner artist, maker or imagineer - join the Artist's Way Creative Women's Circle at the Arienas Collective.

For the creatively curious, sometimes whimsical, freelancer, entrepreneur, doubter and established artist alike, you are invited on a 13 week deep dive into Julia Cameron's internationally acclaimed 'The Artist's Way' methodology.





Macramé wall hangings with Lucy Wayman


On this new workshop, you will start with the basic principles of macramé and small projects before progressing to designing and creating your own bespoke wall hanging. It's suitable for beginners or those wanting to develop their skills.







Shampoo bar and skincare workshop

Following demand from people wanting to make their own shampoo bars, and reduce their single use plastic use, we've introduced this new option for our monthly Sunday skincare days with Jenny from The Scottish Soapworks.








Repeat pattern screenprinting with Lou Davis


On this full-day, intermediate level screen printing workshop with Edinburgh-based artist and printer Lou Davis, you will learn how to create a repeat pattern suitable for printing onto fabric.






Advanced sketching - people and crowds with Mark Kirkham


On this workshop you will learn how to capture both crowds on the streets of Edinburgh, and also close-up portraits from within the stunning Scottish Portrait Gallery.

Using ink and watercolour, and under the close guidance of Mark Kirkham, the Edinburgh Sketcher, you will finish and mount two A4 pieces.






Advanced sketching - Georgian landscapes with Mark Kirkham


Focusing on two illustrations, you will learn how to use composition and perspective to draw the eye into your painting.

Silver clay twig ring with Anna Mazon


On this one-day masterclass you will make your own twig ring from Art Clay Silver with international guest tutor Anna Mazon. You will learn how to create organic shapes, carve texture, add embellishments and more. Your ring will be fired and ready for you to take home at the end of the class.





Heart deco pendant with Anna Mazon


On this two-day workshop with international artist Anna Mazon you will make a unique Art Deco style silver pendant from Art Clay Silver. Your pendant will be ready for you to take home at the end of the weekend course.








Sculpting metal clay with Anna Mazon


Have you ever wished you could sculpt with silver? Now is your chance to learn!

Anna Mazon regularly sculpts with silver clay and is the perfect person to learn from. On this one day masterclass you will learn how to design and sculpt your own teddy bear pendant. The techniques you will learn will easily be transferable to any forms you want to be able to make.
