Thank you for helping us achieve our Platinum student choice award

We're so excited to end 2019 with a platinum award from Craft Courses. This means that we have over 50 five-star reviews for our workshops.

The platinum award is the highest that Craft Courses give to a course provider and we'd like to thank you for taking the time to review the workshops that you've attended. Having reviews helps others that haven't visited us feel confident about booking.

The comments we have had about our workshops have been so lovely to read. Here are just a few of them

Introduction to soap making with Jenny Smith of the Scottish Soapworks

Inspiring surroundings (thanks for opening your home), people and detailed step by step guide for making both cold process and melt and pour soaps.. The soaps I made on Saturday, I had intended to give away, but they are all mine! I will just have to make everyone soaps for Christmas next year! I do intend to come back again soon, and I am thinking about at least 1 voucher for gifting. Many thanks for all the inspiration Lynn and Jenny.

Art and Wine evening with Suzanne Kemplay

If you have never picked up a paintbrush since leaving school, or if you are and absolute beginner, I can thoroughly recommend the Art and Wine evening. At the end you will be astonished and delighted with your work - go on, try it! Under the expert guidance of Suzanne and Lynn's generous hospitality, the evening provides time to step aside from the hurly burly of life and create something beautiful.

Introduction to silver clay jewellery with Anna Campbell

I highly recommend this course, a thoroughly enjoyable day. Lynn warmly welcomed everyone into her beautiful home, the venue for the course and provided refreshments for everyone as they arrived. The course was very relaxed, well presented and well organised. Anna demonstrated how to make a variety of pieces and her instructions were clear and explicit. Questions were welcomed and answered clearly and succinctly. Everyone relaxed over an amazing lunch, organised by Lynn's husband, thanks go to him. I learned a great deal about Silver and Silver Clay and I am delighted with the jewellery I made. I have already recommended and given details of the course to a friend. I look forward to another course.

Introduction to lino printing with Suzanne Kemplay

I really enjoyed this workshop. It was my first time Lino Printing but with Suzanne’s guidance I produced some lovely cards. There is plenty of time to complete each step and Arienas Collective provides a homely setting and a lovely lunch. You take away all the materials so I’ve been able to give it a go at home. Would definitely recommend.

Silver clay ring making with Anna Campbell

This is the third time I have gone to a silver clay course at The Arienas Collective with Anna Campbell. This time I went with my daughter. We had a lovely day in a relaxed friendly environment with an excellent and patient teacher. We were both very pleased with the rings we made and were surprised at the level we managed to achieve. I would strongly recommend both The Arienas Collective and Anna Campbell.

Bookbinding and sketching with Cass Barron and Mark Kirkham

Super class. Well organised in a lovely casual environment. Good hands-on tuition from Cass for the bookbinding. Really love my sketchbook-it's been much admired by my arty and non-arty friends alike! Afternoon sketching was really enlightening. Picked up a lot of tips from Mark on how to tackle line and wash subjects, perspective, tone etc. Especially appreciated the care taken to accommodate dietary requirements for snacks and lunch. All in all a real treat of a day!

Silver clay jewellery taster class with Anna Campbell

Attended the silver clay taster workshop last night- utterly blissful way to spend 3 hours! I was quite nervous attending by myself, but there was an extremely warm welcome on arival and Anna was so lovely that I felt I was with old friends within minutes. The session was so informative and I was astounded with what I made with no skills or artistic talent, and in such a short period of time. I am delighted with my silver necklaces and cannot recommend this course highly enough. I am so keen to experiment with silver clay that I`ve put it on my birthday wish list. Thank you ladies for being so talented, inspiring and just down right lovely- hope to see you again soon.

Professional two-day soap making and skincare course with Jenny Smith of the Scottish Soapworks

Lynn and Jenny could not have been more accommodating. They tailored the course to suit my business needs and more than fulfilled the brief. In addition the accommodation and breakfast were both excellent ( high praise from a well seasoned traveller) and the welcome warm. Thank you to all - I will be back - and have no hesitation in recommending you!

Silver clay boxes and beads with Anna Campbell

Fantastic course with Anna! I thoroughly enjoyed this class, my favourite part was learning to construct a more 3D pendant. Anna is a great teacher and demonstrates and explains the techniques in detail and has great tips on working with metal clay. The setting for the courses is great, just a short walk from Edinburgh Waverley if you are travelling, lots of space to work and a great lunch as well! It was nice to learn more about Arienas collective too and the other courses that they offer, I would definitely recommend taking a class with Anna and at this venue.

Introduction to calligraphy with Panna Chauhan

I spent a full day doing the course with Panna taking the course and Lynn providing tasty treats. The course went through the basics and we produced 2 pieces to take home along with lots of inspiration to carry on at home. Beautiful space to get creative and meet other like-minded people. I can't recommend enough!
