During 2020, we will be hosting three masterclasses with metal clay jewellery artist Anna Mazon. Anna is an award-winning jeweller based in Poland, and comes highly recommended by our silver clay tutor Anna Campbell.
Anna Mazon is a world-renowned metal clay artist, and sought after teacher, who travels around the world to share her techniques. These are her only classes in Scotland for 2020, and we are excited to welcome her to The Arienas Collective.
Heart deco pendant weekend masterclass
On this two-day masterclass you will make a unique Art Deco style silver pendant from Art Clay Silver. Your pendant will be ready for you to take home at the end of the weekend course.
Specifically you will learn how to:
- to make hollow form structures
- to create various types of ornamentation using coils
- to design and construct three-dimensional forms working in dry clay
- to make a secure openwork construction
- to make a setting for a fireable stone
- to create articulated elements – bail or an element hanging below your pendant
The price includes silver clay, plus refreshments and a buffet style lunch on each day.
You will have access to a basic metal clay tool kit. You will need to bring a fine jewellers file with a pointed end, two fine paintbrushes, and one scalpel blade size 11 (we can send you a list of suppliers).
The class is suitable for anyone who has attended Anna Campbell's full day Introduction to silver clay jewellery beginners class. If you are unsure whether this masterclass is suitable for you, please get in touch before booking.
IMPORTANT: please check the dates and arrangements carefully since once you have booked onto this masterclass your place is non-refundable and non-transferable to another class. You can however transfer your place to a friend if you are unable to attend.
Please note that our workshop space is based on the first floor of a Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access.
Anna Mazon Heart Deco pendant weekend masterclass: 19-20 September 2020 10am-5pm
The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a supportive and welcoming home environment in the Edinburgh New Town. Spaces are limited to allow our artists and designer-makers to offer hands-on help and support. All equipment is provided and all the materials you will need (unless stated otherwise). Just turn up, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in creating something unique.
Refreshment breaks are an important part of The Arienas Collective experiences. They are a time to socialise, make new friends and chat to the artists and makers. We are fortunate to have a fantastic range of independent shops and producers nearby, and are proud to feature locally sourced food and drinks.
The price includes all materials specified, refreshments and a buffet style lunch on full day workshops. And of course you get to take home all the unique products you have created.
Most of our workshops are also available to book as a private group, or to bring to your workplace or venue. Please email us for more information.
