On this Introduction to lino-printing onto fabric workshop, local artist Suzanne Kemplay will help you explore ways of creating simple images and striking patterns from which you will print your own, unique tote bag and tea towel.
This is a hands-on, practical and fun workshop where you will learn how to create an original design, cut your design onto lino, add paint, and print onto fabric. You will gain the confidence you need to create beautiful prints at home without the need for expensive equipment.
You will take home your printed cotton tote bag and tea towel. You can bring your own fabric, or plain t-shirt to the workshop if you wish.
The price includes access to the equipment you will need, all materials, refreshments and a buffet style lunch.
Please note that The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a first-floor space and unfortunately we do not have lift access.
Introduction to lino-printing onto fabric: 1 May 2021 10am-4pm
The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a supportive and welcoming home environment in the Edinburgh New Town. Spaces are limited to allow our artists and designer-makers to offer hands-on help and support. All equipment is provided and all the materials you will need (unless stated otherwise). Just turn up, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in creating something unique.
Refreshment breaks are an important part of The Arienas Collective experiences. They are a time to socialise, make new friends and chat to the artists and designer-makers. We are fortunate to have a fantastic range of independent shops and producers nearby and are proud to feature locally sourced food and drinks.
The price includes all materials unless stated otherwise, refreshments, and of course you take home all the unique products you have created. All our experiences are also available to book as a private group, please email us for more information.
