This is a fun and easy class ideal for complete beginners or confident sewers looking to try something new!
On this 3 hour workshop, led by local lingerie designer Hazel Lethaby of Mischke Lingerie, you will learn how to make a flattering, draped, kimono-style cover up.
You will need to bring 2 metres of 150cm wide fabric of your choice (for beginners cotton or linen is best, silks and chiffons are fine for those with some sewing experience). Access to a sewing machine, scissors and threads will be provided but feel free to bring your own. We encourage you to bring your own sewing machine if you wish to so that you can learn to make your kimono using the machine you are familiar with, and will use at home.
You will have the choice of two different styles of kimono - batwing or box sleeves - and you will leave with a fully finished garment ready to wear!
The workshop is suitable for beginners, and those with previous sewing experience, and is a great introduction to the world of making your own lingerie.
The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a supportive and welcoming home environment in the Edinburgh New Town. Spaces are limited so our artists can offer hands-on help and support. Just turn up, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in creating something unique.
The price includes refreshments.
Please note: The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a first-floor open plan reception room and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies when booking.
