This fabulous hand pulled limited edition screen print by artist and printer Lou Davis is taken from an original drawing.

It was inspired by the story of St Kevin of Glendalough who, legend has it, was praying one day when a bird mistook his outstretched hand for a branch and began to build a nest in it. Kevin, not wanting to disturb the bird, kept his hand still throughout days and weeks until the eggs had hatched and the young birds had flown the nest. I was reminded of this story by the birds I saw on my daily walks, currently nest-building and the period of enforced stillness we are all enduring for the sake of others health and wellbeing.

Prints are made on 350gsm Colorplan paper in Ebony

It is from an edition of 50, and comes unmounted and unframed in a range of sizes to fit standard sized frames available from high street retailers. (Though, where possible, Lou recommends you support your local framer who can advise on how to make the print looks its best, and protect it from humidty and dust.)

Please note: although every effort has been made to ensure the quality of your product, this is a handmade print and small variations will be found between prints. Lou takes care to ensure that the prints are correctly represented in the photos, however colours may vary on different devices.
