On this 3-hour beginner's screen printing taster workshop with Edinburgh-based artist and printer Lou Davis, you will learn how to screen print onto fabric using the hand cut stencil method.
You’ll learn to design for screen printing on fabric. You’ll cut a stencil by hand from paper, mix ink, set up a screen, prepare your fabric for printing and print your chosen design. You’ll work on some practice fabric first before printing your final design onto a cushion cover, apron or tote bag.
If you'd llke to learn how to print repeat patterns onto fabric, Lou has a repeat pattern screen printing workshop which is the perfect follow-on to this taster workshop.
The price includes access to all the equipment you will need, all materials, and welcome refreshments. You will also take home your printed cushion cover, apron or tote bag.
Please note that The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a first-floor space and unfortunately we do not have lift access.
Screen printing onto fabric: 8 April 2020 6pm-9pm
The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a supportive and welcoming home environment in the Edinburgh New Town. Spaces are limited to allow our artists and designer-makers to offer hands-on help and support. All equipment is provided and all the materials you will need (unless stated otherwise). Just turn up, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in creating something unique.
Refreshment breaks are an important part of The Arienas Collective experiences. They are a time to socialise, make new friends and chat to the artists and designer-makers. We are fortunate to have a fantastic range of independent shops and producers nearby and are proud to feature locally sourced food and drinks.
The price includes all materials and refreshments, and of course you get to take home all the unique products you have created.
All our experiences are also available to book as a private group for up to 8 people. If you would like to book an experience for a larger number please email us.
