THE ART OF PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

On this half-day workshop with photographer Jannica Honey, you will consider the questions:

What is a portrait? Or to be more specific, what is a good portrait? And do we need to see ourselves to see the other?

The workshop will be full of inspirational exercises, and Jannica will share some essentials in the art of portrait making. Together you will look into the difference between studio lights and ambient light sources, and how to create that genuine portrait - when even the soul has been lit.

Our artists will support you throughout the day offering one-to-one guidance and tips on design, as well as encouraging collaboration through sharing of ideas within the group. They will do their best to answer any questions you may have.

The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a supportive and welcoming home environment in the Edinburgh New Town. Spaces are limited so our artists can offer hands-on help and support. All equipment is provided, as are all the materials you will need. Just turn up, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in creating something unique.

The price for the day includes all equipment*, coffee, tea, lunch and of course you get to take all the products your have created home to enjoy and inspire you, or to give to family and friends as unique gifts.

*Please bring your own camera.

Please note: The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a first-floor open plan reception room and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies when booking.
